UIEvolution Collaborates with Kymeta To Develop Proof of Concept
UIEvolution, the global leader in connected screen software and services, and Kymeta Corporation, the company commercializing innovative metamaterials-based flat-panel antennas for satellite communications, announced today a collaboration to develop a Platform designed to enable high-speed Internet communication and broadcast services. High-speed Internet broadband and entertainment services will be available to automobiles, vessels and airplanes traveling anywhere globally by utilizing products developed by UIEvolution to facilitate communication between devices such as smartphones, tablets, automotive head units and smart TVs paired with Kymeta’s flat-panel satellite antenna technology.
Kymeta’s flat-panel antenna products are a family of multi-use, modular products that can be deployed in a variety of applications, ideally for moving objects enabling high speed Internet connectivity and entertainment solutions anywhere in the world. Given UIEvolution’s work with leading companies like Toyota, Lexus and Princess Cruises, the partnership creates a unique capability that opens new opportunities to provide broadband mobile services and highly flexible portable and fixed services to a wide range of applications. The market will have the opportunity to enjoy high-speed broadband similar to what they have at home or the office.
“Vehicles and vessels are increasingly in need for high-speed Internet connectivity wherever they may go, whether it is for telematics or entertainment services,” said Vern Fotheringham, Chairman, President and CEO of Kymeta Corporation. “We are excited to collaborate with UIEvolution on the next generation connectivity to these mobile platforms.
