Samsung Research America Announces Networks Open Innovation Event Winners
20th July, 2015 – Samsung Research America hosted its first Networks Open Innovation Event (OIE) to help Samsung find innovative partners to grow business together. This year Networks OIE focusing on three domains:
- Next-Generation Operations Support Systems (NG-OSS)
- Software Defined Networking & Network Functions Virtualization (SDN & NFV)
- Internet-of-Things (IoT)
Networks OIE called for disruptive technologies and innovative business models to help shape the future of the telecommunications industry. After meeting over 90 companies, reviewing 24 applications, Samsung Research America and Samsung Networks Business Unit chose seven finalists for the Demo Day, where two winners were named. Samsung Networks OIE provided an opportunity for all the seven finalists to pitch their innovative ideas to Executives from various divisions of Samsung such as Samsung Research America, Samsung Networks, Samsung Ventures, Samsung Corporate Development, Samsung Global Innovation Center (GIC) and Samsung Strategy and Innovation Center (SSIC). The two winners are in deep discussion with the Samsung R&D team for potential collaboration opportunities.
